Adoption of new policy for RV/Campground connections and Inactive Services

May 30, 2023 The Board of Directors passed Ordinance 2023-02 pertaining to the following policies:

RV Parks/Campgrounds: District will use eight spaces to one meter equivalence when determining the size meter required for an RV Park/Campground.  Tiny homes and Park Model homes and Mobile homes will be treated as a single-family home residence and require one meter per space/lot.

Inactive Services:  Where a service has been inactive for five years or more, District will pull the meter.  If future service is requested on property where an inactive service of five years or more has been pulled, a new service will be required.  The reasoning for this is TCEQ requires the District to reserve water, which means pay for water, for all inactive services, (where a water meter exists and no revenues are received).  Ultimately, this means active customers are paying for the water being reserved for inactive services, and additionally there is no revenue from these services for any type of repairs or upgrades.

These policies will become effective July 1, 2023.
